Samara Golden was born in Michigan in 1973, and received her MFA from Columbia University in 2009. Golden was included in the 2017 Whitney Biennial, and she has had recent solo exhibitions at MoMA PS1, New York; Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco; Night Gallery, Los Angeles; and CANADA, New York. Her work was featured in the 2014 Hammer Museum Biennial, Made in L.A., and is in the permanent collections of L.A. MOCA and the Zabludowicz Collection. In 2015, a monograph on Golden was published by MoMA PS1, and her work has been written about in Artforum, Art in America, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Mousse, and Flash Art, among other publications. She lives in Los Angeles.
