Divya Mehra is known for disarming multimedia works that address diasporic experiences, historical narratives, and the legacy of colonialism in the West. This monumental inflatable reimagines the plastic bags reading “THANK YOU” often used by diasporic businesses for both food delivery and in convenience stores. A Hindi term originally misused by the British empire against Indians, the word “LOOT” replaces the neighborly message of gratitude and invites you to take what you are owed.
