For Untitled Art Houston 2026, Night Gallery is pleased to present work by Tomashi Jackson, Sarah Awad, Mira Dancy, Hasani Sahlehe, Corinna Gosmaro, Rachel Youn and Josh Callaghan in Special Projects. Working across painting and sculpture, each artist begins with surfaces already legible with meaning: the art-historical nude, the mass-produced commodity, the archive of civil rights, the landscape itself. What unfolds in each case is a deliberate act of layering, manipulation, and transformation that disturbs each material’s preconceived notions. Across their practices, the act of making is inseparable from the act of questioning — what we see, what we inherit, and what we are willing to reckon with.
